Derrick Cohan is an American cinematographer and AFI Conservatory Alum.
His first feature, Adverse, starring Mickey Rourke, Sean Astin, and Thomas Nicholas was released theatrically by Lionsgate. Variety’s review of the film stated “Derrick Cohan’s ace cinematography is an invaluable asset”.
Derrick’s short form project Coming Out with the Help of a Time Machine was officially selected by the Tribeca Festival in 2022. The film stars Karan Soni and is directed by Naman Gupta.
His latest project, Karaganda, is a feature film set in 1980s Soviet Union and 1990s New York. It’s directed by Max Weissberg and based on an award winning short film. The film is screening in festivals world wide
Derrick has an extensive commercial career having worked with top brands such as Kylie Cosmetics, KKW Beauty, Toyota, Planet Fitness, Obama Foundation and others.
He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife Jen and daughters Fifer and Noa.
